Regarding the argument over the origins of the banjo, the blues, and blue grass; come on everyone. Were the African’s playing the blues in Africa? No. Were they influenced by the music they were subjected to? Yes. Did they construct something freakin otherworldly amazing out of this? YES!!! Was all of rock and roll stolen from them? No. Did they not receive early credit for their contribution? A huge yes. This old raging argument makes me horribly sad.

There shouldn’t be an argument over this. The banjo, and blue grass is a shared experience. Started under rough circumstances to be sure but mutually evolved non the less. This all needs to settle down.
